I’m quite hard to impress these days. I suppose that’s one of the many negatives of being middle-aged; you’ve pretty much seen everything you want to see, done everything you wanted to do, read all the books you wanted to read. You get the idea…I’m jaded and cynical and bloody hard to impress and it’s really not very often that you’ll hear me use a word like ‘awesome’. It’s pretty rare that you’ll find me staring goggle-eyed at something, my jaw hanging open and busy trapping flies.

But this piece of work…this did that for me. It’s called a ‘video mural’. And the link directly below takes you to the artist’s homepage where you can watch a high-resolution version of it.

http://motionographer.com/theater/marco-brambil...

So, you can watch it in hi-rez with the link above…and I DO reccomend doing that. Or, if you’re impatient, here’s a link to the Lo-rez version on Youtube:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vQJVr8Lvce0

(If you go with the Youtube link, at the very least, go full-screen.)

It’s an awesome piece of art; a ‘video mural’ depicting the transition from Hell to Heavan. Even a complete atheist like me can enjoy it. There are allegories in there, and plenty of hidden and obvious cultural references and movie clips that you’ll recognise in this piece. Why not give this ‘movie’ several runs through and see how many things you recognise in there. You’ll be surprised how much you spot?

Oh, and make sure you’ve got your speakers on too. The music is sensational. Chilling, actually.
